Building on an existing fourteen-year partnership with Teatown Lake Reservation, Con Edison has generously donated $25,000 in support of the Teatown Trails Green Stewardship Program reflecting a shared mission to preserve and protect the environment through conservation education and restoration projects. The donation comes from Con Edison’s green initiative, the Power of Giving Program.
The Teatown Trails Green Stewardship Program provides valuable environmental education for Teatown’s 10,000 annual hikers and the thousands of schoolchildren, adults and families that attend programs and other public events. Con Edison’s support of the Program provides the resources to care for Teatown’s 15 miles of trails that traverse fields, streams, and forests within Teatown’s 875-acres.
As part of the Teatown Trails Green Stewardship Program, free educational pamphlets are available for Teatown’s most popular trails. The pamphlets include maps and in-depth information on the flora and fauna, geological features, and history of the region. This self-guided approach enhances education efforts at Teatown and helps connect visitors with the surrounding nature.
Teatown's trails are open 365 days a year for exploration. The property is located at 1600 Spring Valley Road, Ossining, NY 10562.
