On behalf of the Croton-Harmon Education Foundation, I’d like to wish everyone in the Croton community a Happy New Year! I’d also like to make three important announcements.
First, this year’s Dine-A-Round will take place on January 26th, and tickets are on sale now (and going fast!). This popular event features dinner, followed by an after party with dessert, dancing and a live auction. You can choose either a 3-course formal dinner for $110 a person, or a 2-course casual dinner for $75 a person; you can also choose to attend only the after party for $50. This event is a great way to meet other people in the community while helping to support our schools. Tickets are limited, and are available at http://chef.tofinoauctions.com/dar2013/.
Second, in a departure from recent years, CHEF won’t be holding a formal dinner/dance “Under the Stars” event this year. Based in part on feedback from our recent online survey, we’re working on a less formal, more community-oriented event in the Spring – details to come.
Finally, CHEF has just completed our annual grant process and we’re pleased to announce that we’ve made our largest grant ever this year, consistent with our continuing mission to support excellence and innovation in the Croton-Harmon schools. The grant will fund 64 laptops, to be stationed in multiple classrooms, across disciplines, allowing students in each class to use the laptops for research and analysis; full details will be available on our website shortly.
