Spartans Show Strength In Loss To Peekskill

Ossining looks forward to its next meet against Torview at that club's pool.

In a hard-fought swim meet on July 25 at the Joseph G. Caputo Community Center Pool in Ossining, Peekskill’s swim team beat the Spartans Swim Team 263-221, ending the Spartans’s winning streak this summer.  Ossining, competing in Division 4 of the Northern Westchester Swim Conference (NWSC), nevertheless registered a strong showing against Peekskill, last year’s Division 3 champions.  At the close of the individual events, Ossining trailed by a mere nine points.  During the relays, Peekskill, which fielded multiple relay teams against Ossining’s vacation-thinnned ranks, pulled ahead decisively, sealing the victory by 42 points.

Ossining looks forward to its next meet against Torview at that club’s pool on July 28, which will be the last meet prior to the NWSC championship meet on August 4.

The Spartans blue-ribbon winners are Serafina Capasso, Brandon Carlos, Alex Carrazzone, Orien Douglas, Yohance Douglas, Maggie Dymes, Katie Flynn, Matias Gomez, Yousef Kamal, Nicole Marcatoma, Stella Meyerhoeffer, Sammy Novo, Ryan Roksvold, Emma San Martin, and Nico San Martin.
