$15,925,405,000 ...and Counting - Carvin Adds Debt Clock to Website

$15,925,405,000,000...and Counting -----Carvin Adds U.S. Debt Clock to Campaign Website -----

"This debt clock is an indictment of those who put our country in this situation."

Westchester-Rockland--Aug. 16...Rye Town Supervisor and congressional candidate Joe Carvin (R-NY-17), who is running for Congress to spur economic growth in Westchester and Rockland and tame the Washington overspending threatening the very future of this nation, today added a live U.S. Debt Clock to his campaign website, which can be seen at www.Carvin2012.com. The clock will remain on the site throughout the campaign.

Mr. Carvin said the Debt Clock, which increases by about $4 billion per day, "crystallizes" how reckless career Washington politicians, like 24-year-incumbent Nita Lowey (D-WFP), have been to this country -- and just how sorely new and fiscally responsible leaders are needed.

"This debt clock is an indictment of all those, Democrat and Republican alike, who put our country in this situation," Mr. Carvin said. "This unsustainable borrowing is a drag on the economy like an anchor on a speed boat.  If we do not reduce our debt and work to save our social safety net for the next generation of Americans, life will be substantially different in this country for decades to come, something we are just beginning to get a taste of today," Mr. Carvin said. "Nita Lowey and other career politicians who kicked the can down the road year after year have to explain to voters how they got us $16 trillion in the hole."
Mr. Carvin noted that the real national debt, when unfunded entitlement deficits are tallied, ranges, according to estimates, from anywhere between $75 trillion and $225 trillion.

"Nita Lowey and other free-spending career politicians have badly jeopardized the long-term economic stability of this country, yet, incredibly, they still haven't learned," Mr. Carvin continued. "This very day, the U.S. is borrowing 36 cents of every dollar it spends. There is no getting away from that; just look at the Debt Clock and watch its wheels turn. "

Some issues are just too panoramic for many folks. And this is one. Not a bad political choice to highlight ... especially when your opponent has a decades' long record of glutton-spending and raising taxes. For the listeners, it's at least a different issue than you're likely to see over and over again on the major news' thoroughfares. Smart move. Now Carvin has to keep the electricity on the issue ... ride it and ride it ... and hope that's the loudest honk in the campaign ... because if he can explain in real-people terms, he might just flip the tables. Folks are sick of Washington-ites. Especially those who've ingratiated themselves at our expense. I hope he's successful. I'm sick of do-nothing, glamour-politicians who appear like the groundhog ... every so often. Mostly to the disappointment of a silent majority who cannot stand that varmint. Here's a chance for voters to let DC know that NY is not about booble-head, liberal democrats who haul their initialed, rubber stamps to work ... and screw us with a grin. Instead, we have folks who respond to us ... and not the pressures of political pimps.

Aidan... Nice high horse you ride. Please make it clear to everyone why we have debt in the first place. BUSH II increased the debt 90% so that defense contractors would feed at the trough of public money while the neocons pointed their swords at the windmills in Iraq and Afghanistan. These are the same radical right determined to bring down the middle class with their tax cutting mantra. The interesting thing about the debt crisis; it is the GOPs doing. Mr. Carvin is correct to point to it, but to blame liberal politicians is pure poppycock. Bush raised the debt from $5.5 Trillion to $10 Trillion in 8 years. obama raised it to $16 Trillion in 3 1/2 years and has no plan to stop the slide. obama has not signed a budget since he has been in office and has the distinction of being the only President to never sign a budget. Wake up already, the emperor is not wearing clothes,

Don't forget that Obama admits he cut $716 billion from Medicare from current seniors to pay for Obamacare.

E. Nuff ... nice try. Not a soul buys it. Spending is the issue and liberals are the spenders. And middle class knows it.
