Croton & Ossining's WDFH: Important Meeting Invitation

Please come to an important meeting to discuss the survival of WDFH.

On Tuesday February 21st at 7:30 there will be an important meeting in the WDFH studio to discuss the future of the station.

If you are a member of the Hudson Valley music community or represent a local non-profit organization we'd greatly appreciate your presence at this pivotal event.  Without a show of support WDFH will have to take drastic measures which will ultimately result in shutting down the studio and going off the air.

We would love to continue bringing you local music and local news along with our Pacifica programming and in house shows including In Focus, Eyes On Westchester and OutCasting.  There is also new non-profit show waiting in the wings that we'd love to get on the air as soon as possible.

Unfortunately none of this will be possible without immediate financial assistance from the community.  We feel that WDFH has an affinity with the local music scene as well as social justice, environmental and other similar non-profit agencies.

Our signal is capable of reaching 400,000 listeners and if we could get 1% of them to donate $25 apiece we would raise enough money to operate for the rest of 2012 as well as apply for matching Federal grants that would give us a additional year.  This isn't the 1% that you've been hearing about in the news.  This is the 1% that can keep a 30 year old community public radio station afloat.

In the past few months we've had eight local musical acts in the studio to perform.  They have a collective fan base of nearly 10,000 people.  If each of them gave $10 we'd be able to breathe a sigh of relief and continue to book more acts and give them continued exposure.  Without it WDFH will close their doors before the season is over.

These are the stark realities and ugy truths we're faced with right now.  If you value the service that WDFH provides, please give generously and encourage others to do so as well.  If you've performed in the studio and seen our operation you know that we're in this for the right reasons.  This is a labor of love and we've been given the tools to do great things for the lower Hudson valley.  We'd love nothing more than to continue to grow with you and for you.

If you would like to attend the meeting on February 21st at 7:30 PM at our Yonkers studio, please contact me at jeff@wdfh.org for directions and details.  We look forward to seeing you on the 21st and we look forward to serving the community for another 30 years.

If you'd like to make a donation right now, you can do so at the WDFH site.

Thank You,

Jeff Kent and The Volunteers at WDFH
