Ossining Men Crowd-Fund Microbrewery Start-Up

Brian Moran and his partner, both from Ossining, have launched a Go Fund Me campaign to crowd-fund a business dream: the Old Sparky Brewing Company, named after none other than the infamous electric chair of Sing Sing prison, which executed 614 men and women until 1963.

Makes for a potent beer, to be sure. The friends just wanted to have a name associated with where they're from and thought of course of our prison. "Old Sparky" just seemed to work, they said.

Opening an actual operation is years down the road, they said, as they are in the very early stages of the venture now.
