Maryknoll Sisters Land Preservation Celebration

Maryknoll Sisters will celebrate the creation of an easement, protecting some two-thirds of their 60-plus acres from further development at a Land Preservation Celebration to be held Sunday, June 3, 2012, on the Maryknoll Sisters grounds, 10 Pinesbridge Road, Ossining.

The celebration, which is open to the public, will begin at 2:30 p.m. and feature a blessing of nature by Six Nations Chief Howard Thompson, Chief of the Wolf Clan, Mohawk Nation, Haudenosaunee; a keynote address by Sister Christine Loughlin, OP, Crystal Springs Earth Learning Center, Plainville, MA; and remarks by Candace Schafer, Executive Director, Westchester Land Trust; Sister
Miriam Therese MacGillis, OP, Director, Genesis Farm Blairstown, NJ; and Sisters Doreen Longres and Janet Miller, co-directors of the  Maryknoll Sisters Environmental Office.
