Come enjoy a musical performance by Rick and Donna Nestler and special guests at the Ferry Sloops monthly meeting on Wednesday, December 5 at 7:30PM, in the Croton Point Park Nature Center. Admission is FREE.


Rick Nestler is a Coast Guard licensed Master, an actor, a singer and a songwriter. His song, “The River That Flows Both Ways", has become an anthem for those who care about the Hudson River and its preservation. He has appeared at coffeehouses, folk festivals, house concerts and museums across the USA.


Rick has several albums to his credit. His all original CD called, "Spending My Days" includes the song, "The River That Flows Both Ways", which has been recorded by Pete Seeger, Rich Bala, and Betty & the Baby Boomers, while another tune,"Bar Song" was recorded by an old friend, Ray Chesna. Rick has released a CD of some of his favorite western music entitled "Cowboy Up", which includes his first yodeling and tenor banjo playing on tunes written by Woody Guthrie and Gene Autry as well as a few songs of his own devising. His CD, "The Irish in Me", is a collection of his favorite 'songs from the old sod'. His latest recording, Dockside", is comprised of maritime music both traditional and contemporary, including a good number of his own compositions.


Come with a dish at 6:30PM to enjoy a potluck dinner or arrive at 7:30PM for the performance.


Ferry Sloops' monthly meetings are held at the Nature Center in Croton Point Park on the first Wednesday of each month. Our potluck supper begins at 6:30PM, followed by our meeting at 7:00PM and guest at 7:30PM. The meetings are open to all current members and non-members interested to learn more about Ferry Sloops.
