Croton Community Coalition Drug Take Back Day

Croton Community Coalition, which works proactively to keep Croton teens safe and drug-free, is sponsoring a drug take back day on Saturday, October 26, 2013 from 10am to 2pm, Croton Commons, off of 171-187 S. Riverside Ave. & Maple St., Croton-on-Hudson, NY. Croton residents are urged to turn in any unused or outdated prescription drugs in an effort to keep prescription medications from being thrown out in the trash where kids might find them.

“The Drug Take Back Day is a national effort in cooperation with the Drug Enforcement Agency to safely and properly dispose of unwanted, unused or outdated prescriptions.  The Coalition’s sponsorship of this program has been very successful,” said Laurie Dean, Croton Community Coalition Coordinator.

Last year’s Drug Take Back Day netted more than 100 pounds of prescription medications that were properly disposed of by local DEA agents. The effort is in cooperation with the Croton Police Department which has a drug drop off box available at police headquarters at the Croton Municipal Building throughout the year.
