Eagles Rule the Roost at Teatown [PHOTOS]

Annual event draws hundreds -- and raptors don't disappoint.

The one-day delay because of the snowstorm didn't deter hundreds of people from coming to Teatown Lake Reservation's annual Eaglefest. Visitors to several sites along the Hudson River weren't disappointed as dozens of the majestic raptors flew overhead and roosted in nearby trees.

Teatown set up viewing sites at the Croton boat launch, Georges Island Park in Montrose, Steamboat Dock in Verplanck, the Croton Gorge Dam and the Riverfront Green in Peekskill, and a shuttle bus brought birders from site to site.

People looked through spotting scopes, binoculars and cameras as Bald Eagles, Red-tailed Hawks and other birds of prey took to the sky. Educational exhibits and other attractions were set up at Croton Point Park, and hot chocolate and entertainment was provided at other locations including Teatown Lake Reservation and the Riverfront Green.
