Description: These monthly walks are held rain or shine except in very, very inclement weather! Brinton Brook in Croton-on-Hudson is the Saw Mill Audubon Society's largest sanctuary. No pre-registration necessary. Meet in main parking area off Route 9A. Good for ages 6 and up.Click here for directions.
Katonah: John Jay Film Festival
When: Friday, May 10, 7:30 p.m.
Where: Caramoor Center for the Arts
Cost: $15 students, $25 adults
Description: ArtsALIVE! presents a showcase of student films of various genres, including documentaries, music videos, narrative shorts, and animations. The student film festival committee spearheaded the film festival and has been instrumental in every aspect of planning the event. The keynote speaker is Steve Martino, director of Blue Sky Studio’s Peanuts, Doctor Seuss’ Horton Hears a Who, and Ice Age 4.
Mt. Kisco: Bird Banding at Westmoreland
Where: Westmoreland Sanctuary
When: Saturday, May 11, 8 a.m.
Cost: Free
Description: Join Westmoreland and Marsh Memorial Sanctuary staff for a bird banding session at Westmoreland Sanctuary. See live wild songbirds in the hand as we safely capture, band, and release birds during the program. Banding helps to further our knowledge of bird biology and contribute to habitat conservation. Meet in Westmoreland’s nature center. All ages welcome.
Ossining: Teatown's Plant Sale
Where: 1600 Spring Valley Rd, Ossining, NY

Cost: $10 admission fee Friday evening; free on Saturday
Description: There are plants that are carefully chosen as deer resistant from proven growers in our area, along with a selection of unique native wildflowers and vegetables.
KFM Foundation Mothers Day Brunch
Peekskill: Itziar Barrio: "WE COULD HAVE HAD IT ALL" Opening Reception
Where: Hudson Valley Center for Contemporary Art, 1701 Main St, in Peekskill.

Description:In this multi-layered digital video, Itziar Barrio takes a line borrowed from popular music as the departure point for an elaborate exploration of performance, language, politics, and sexuality. Drawing its title from the chorus of British pop star Adele’s 2011 smash single, “Rolling In The Deep,” the work pays homage to the global appeal of Adele’s music while inquiring into the myth-like notion of total fulfillment.
Pleasantville: Springtime in Paris
Where: Arc Stages
When: Saturday, May 11 from 6 to 11 p.m.
Cost: $300 two VIP tickets; $150 one VIP ticket
Description: Broadway stars will be stopping by Pleasantville this weekend to perform in Arc Stages' fundraising gala. Kids from the Little Village Playhouse will also be performing. Pleasantville Mayor Peter Scherer will be hosting the gala. The evening includes cocktails, dinner and entertainment.
Sleepy Hollow: Riverkeeper Sweep
Place: Various locations along the Hudson River including Tarrytown's RiverWalk Park and Sleepy Hollow's Kingsland Point Park
When: Saturday, May 11 from 8 to 11 a.m. (Kingsland) or 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. (RiverWalk).
Description: As part of Riverkeeper's annual "Sweep" clean up events, the villages of Tarrytown and Sleepy Hollow are holding their own work days. Preregistering with Riverkeeper (www.riverkeeper.org) makes you eligible for a free beer and raffle.

Yorktown: Mother's Day 5K Race & 2 Mile walk
Where: Franklin D. Roosevelt State Park, 2957 Crompond Rd.
When: Sunday, May 12 at 9 a.m.
Cost: $20
Description: The Taconic Road Runners presents a Mother's Day 5K Race and 2 Mile Walk. Moms, daughters, sisters, come out and celebrate Mother's Day with a fun "Women's Only" race or walk at FDR State Park in Yorktown, Lot 1.
