This Sunday, July 7th, at Rye's Down to Earth Farmers Market, Chef Maria of Bella Cucina Maria will cook up delicious, seasonal recipes and offer tastes to all who stop by! Her featured ingredient for this week is garlic scapes. We've all seen those lovely, loopy green scapes at the market - but how do we cook with them? Luckily, Chef Maria will demonstrate easy recipes at the market from 10:30 am to 12:30 pm.
Once we're inspired by her culinary creativity, the market is full of local, fresh foods for more meals ahead. The farmers in Rye will have tables full of cherries, blueberries, snap peas, broccoli, and much more from the summer harvest. The market also offers artisanal breads, baked goods, pickles, pasture-raised meats and poultry, locally-roasted nuts and coffees...and more. This week we also welcome Bombay Emerald Chutney Company, featuring Indian chutneys, Ayurvedia spices, samosas, and other specialties.
