Preserve 600+ Acres of Area Farmland: Shop Croton's Farmers Market!

This Sunday, August 11th, join the local food enthusiasts of Croton in helping to preserve over 600 acres of area farmland. How? By shopping at Croton's Down to Earth Farmers Market!

Every Sunday, from 9:00 am-2:00 pm, in the municipal parking lot off of the Route 9 exit, farmers unpack their harvest of fresh, seasonal produce.

Rexcroft Farm is a 7th generation farm that grows a wide range of vegetables and raises beef, pork, and poultry. Their operation covers nearly 400 acres on the banks of the Hudson River. The family behind the farm, the Kings, tend to their land and animals with great care.

Another vendor, John D. Madura Farms, also offers local vegetables - including mushrooms! - at the market every week. Madura grows on 300 acres of "Black Dirt", the infamous nutrient-rich soil of Orange County, NY. By doing business directly with these farmers, shoppers support their livelihoods from the land. In turn, the farmers can keep their land in agricultural production.

The Croton farmers market also features amazing treats from Baked by Susan, delicious pickles from Dr. Pickle, and quiches, soups, hot waffles to go, and more from Pika's Farm Table. Thank you for supporting local farmers and food entrepreneurs - see you at the market!
