If Farmer Madura's Spinach Can Make It This Winter, So Can We!

This Saturday, February 15th, at Ossining's Down to Earth Farmers Market: Did you know that farmer John D. Madura grows spinach and salad greens all winter long in high tunnels? It's true. Every week, he brings lots of fresh, mineral-packed greens to the Ossining farmers market. He also has leeks, root veggies, and all sorts of mushrooms - to name just some of his yummy foods!

Gajeski Produce harvests a wonderful selection of greens, too, from their greenhouses, including French arugula and baby spinach.

Kiernan Farm, pasture-raised livestock specialists, are offering a nice DISCOUNT on their Chorizo and Cajun Andouille Pork Sausages: $1.25 OFF per pound! Regularly priced at $10.75/lb., this Saturday, you'll find these delicious meats for $9.50 per pound. Kiernan also invites shoppers to a discount on their Beef Sirloin Tip Steaks: $2 OFF/lb. (Reg. $16.25; this Saturday $14.25)

Our bakers have special offerings now, too: Meredith's Bread is making Chocolate-Dipped Strawberries, as well as Valentine-themed cookies and cupcakes. Bread Alone will have Raspberry Fruit Buckle in celebration of the sweet holiday, too.

AND the market features all sorts of local produce, meats, chicken, eggs, pickles, breads, and much more. We're at the corner of Spring and Main Street from 9 am to 1 pm.

We look forward to seeing you! Thank you for supporting local farms and food businesses.
