Ossining's Pizza Corner Closes

After 17 years in Ossining, the owner of Pizza Corner is calling it quits.

One of Ossining's favorite places to eat has closed down. The has been in business for well over a decade. Now, owner Frank Margiotta has called it quits. He's shuttering the business in Ossining and moving to a chef position at a restaurant in Tappan, New Jersey.

Franks wife, Gina, has sent this note to Patch regarding the closing:

After 17 years serving the Ossining community, last Saturday, of Westchester closed its doors.  Frank Margiotta, chef and owner,  after much thought, made his decision with a very heavy heart.   Frank had served the community for many, many years and he leaves behind not just customers, but dear friends that were like his extended family. He is and has always been very appreciative and thankful for all the love and support that he has received during that time and he will truly missed it.

Frank always loved what he did and always provided the best service. His pizza, pasta and Italian entrees were always enjoyed by his customers and always had them coming back for more.   Customers  and past employees, hearing the news of his closing, flocked to the store, hoping to find it to be just a rumor.  When he explained his circumstances, many customers expressed their heartfelt disappointment.  While some customers reminisced about their favorite dishes, wonderful service and warm, casual atmosphere, some were asking “where will I go now?”.

While some doors close, others will open.  Frank will continue his career as a chef at Old Tappan Pizza Factory, in Old Tappan, N.J., a half hours drive from Pizza Corner.  He hopes to continue to serve his Pizza Corner customers for all their catering needs.

Frank posted a letter to his customers on the window of the store today.  In his own words he expresses how much his customers meant to him and how thankful he was to serve the Ossining community.  If you get  a chance, please go by and read it.
