Men! You can’t live with ‘em, but there are those, I’ve just been pleasantly reminded, who can live without them. Kudos to my local library, which has won a grant under a new Creative Aging program of the Westchester Library System and Lifetime Arts, Inc. That’s welcome news, of course, and Yorktown’s Hart Library deserves a round of applause for its reward, as do those who made it happen, including Melinda O’Brien, in charge of adult programs and art exhibits.
The press release from Hart says the money will “fund an exciting new program, The Family of Women: A Creative Writing Adventure into the Journey of Women’s Lives.”
My first reaction, with a nod to Arte Johnson of ‘60s TV show Laugh-In, was, “Hmm, ver-r-ry interesting.” My second reaction was, “That’s telling us, ladies!” My third reaction was, “What are we, chopped liver?”
