The U.S. gold medal gymnasts kept their balance impressively on The Letterman Show.

Watching the U.S. Olympics Women’s Gymnastics Team being interviewed recently by the host of The David Letterman Show was a study in confidence spiced with cockiness and competitive fires still burning bright even between team members.  

After Mr. L chatted in group mode with the self-styled “Fierce Five,” he focused solely a bit on the irrepressible Gabrielle “Gabby” Douglas, the first African-American from any nation to take home an all-around gold medal in gymnastics, with a trademark smile, wide as a balance beam, that could light Times Square in a power outage.

It’s Gabby time.”
