Bye, Bye, iPad, iCried

Is the person who padded off with my iPad part of the 99% have-nots? Hard to imagine it was a 1 percenter, who could afford to own a helipad, let alone an iPad.

Do people in Occupy Wall Street’s hyperbolic 99% not own iPads, while those in OWS’s equally simplistic 1% are the only ones who own iPads?

In no way am I part of any economically advantaged 1% the OWS provocateurs have created as a bogeyman, yet I can’t see eye to eye with the blur and caricaturization of America that is the collective conceit of the 99%.

The improvisational shallowness of the ramshackle OWS movement resembles a not-so-slickly produced reality show on wheels in search of a coherent story line and compelling lead characters.

Sad that Mr Apar failed to lock his car and his iPad got stolen. That area off Martine Ave in White Plains is not safe. Not that a Yorktown Heights elitist would ever know it. His writing is atrocious. Nouns and verbs, Mr Apar. Drop all the pretentious multisyllabic words. Unless you gave away your house you are part of the 1%. But that fact is as irrelevant as the rest of your impenetrable prose. Lock your car. Duh????

Oh boo hoo, my iPad got ripped off. Let me blame and condemn a whole social movement because of it? Wow. Can you say stretch? Try losing your the roof over your head to real "criminals". If the cops catch the thief who stole your iPad they'll be consequences. By contrast, clearly guilty financial institutions, drop their weapons, wipe their bloody hands on the soiled rag that is the American public, and saunter away from their crime scene, free to devastate the global economy and families nationwide with no accountability. Try hitting up your auto or home insurance, skin flint and stop blaming the victims for your trivial misfortunes.

Check the statistics, I'm not sure home ownership qualifies anyone for the "1%" category.

I agree with CK.

That stinks. You did not deserve to have your property stolen.
Liz Claire January 31, 2012 at 04:26 PM
Peter, you are mistaken. Obama has diluted the idea of the 1% to where a married couple of cops or teachers in the Metro area is considered the evil 1%. Apar is definitely a 1%er by Obama's definition.

CK, did you buy a home you could not afford? If not I am not sure what Ames you so angry at the banks.
Watchdog January 31, 2012 at 05:54 PM
Defecating on police cars is now a SOCIAL MOVEMENT? I personally one several people who are upside down on their mortgage but continue to pay it. Are you looking for a handout?
Heron January 31, 2012 at 06:38 PM
The top 1% are people who have a household income of more than $343,000 a year.
Heron January 31, 2012 at 06:45 PM
It's very unclear to me what actually happened to the i-pad. Did he accidently leave it somewhere? Was it stolen? I'm not sure that the author even knows. And the connection between the missing i-pad and the OWS movement is also unclear.
Watchdog January 31, 2012 at 07:12 PM
That includes the President and his entire cabinet as well as 98% of Congress!
Watchdog January 31, 2012 at 07:50 PM
CK how long did you live in that house rent free making not a single payment before you were evicted for traspassing?
CK January 31, 2012 at 08:13 PM
Shhh... Watchdog. Not only are you totally off the mark, you can't type for crap and Sean Hannity dresses you funny! Now go back under the bridge. You're missing out on today's talking points.

FYI Banks for the most pArt do not own these loans which were sold to investors such as Fannie Mae who lowered the underwriting standards at the behest of Barney Frank and Chris Dodd who both are leaving government before they were thrown out

CK I have several homes because I pay my obligations OTOH CK is looking for a bailout . Too bad OBamas HARP and Hamp are failures. It is too late. All you can do now is blame a television program.
Watchdog January 31, 2012 at 08:23 PM
CK sorry about the typing I am at one of my summer residences at the pool and the sun glare gets on my screen. This is my reward for working hard so i can pay my obligations Where Are you?
Watchdog January 31, 2012 at 08:29 PM
CK if you 'did the math'you wouldnothave qualified to buy the home you lost anyway so I reality the temporary stay you had in that residence you could not afford was a gift from the bank that gave you the loan/. You are really back to where you started and did not lose anything. Undertstand better now?
Watchdog January 31, 2012 at 08:54 PM
CK Did you ever ask yourself why you are not among the over 90% of the population that did not go delinquent and lose their home ? Where we're you deficient?
