Assemblywoman Sandy Galef will appear at Premier Athletic Club’s Health and Wellness Expo on Saturday, March 8th. In order to educate individuals about their health care options, Galef is participating in the national “Day of Action” where people can take part in enrollment events that will help them enroll for health care coverage. As part of the “Day of Action” efforts on Saturday, March 8th, Galef has partnered with Hudson River HealthCare to provide Outreach and Enrollment Specialists at the Health & Wellness Expo taking place on that day at Premier Athletic Club, 2127 Albany Post Road in Montrose from 11am-4pm.

The deadline to enroll in health insurance through the New York State of Health is March 31st, so if you or someone you know needs health insurance, do not wait.  HRHCare Community Health will have two specialists, one of whom is bilingual, who will be available to help you in the application process at the Expo.

“I hope that my constituents who have not yet enrolled in the New York State of Health options for health insurance will take advantage of this opportunity to get help enrolling, locally,” said Assemblywoman Galef.  “Additionally, at the Expo, visitors can get a free health screening through the Hudson Valley Hospital Center, as well as take advantage of free exercise classes and use of the fitness equipment. There will also be activities for kids including swimming, face-painting, an air castle, and even a Teddy Bear Clinic. In addition, the Hendrick Hudson School District has partnered with Premier, and the club will be offering mini massages for ten dollars that will help raise money for the school district’s Food Services program. In addition to the Expo hours, the club is open to the public free of charge from 7am-7pm.  It should be a wonderful event and I encourage everyone to attend.”

Those unable to make the event on Saturday should call 1.800.84.HEALTH or send an email to gethealthinsurance@hrhcare.org where enrollment specialists can assist you to see if you are eligible for lower cost coverage based on your income; compare coverage options to find what meets your needs; and, enroll.
