Local Proposal for Paramount Expected to Move Ahead

The Peekskill Common Council is expected vote on a resolution authorizing city management to negotiate a lease with Red House Entertainment during Monday's meeting.

The Peekskill Common Council is expected to push forward with plans to negotiate a lease with Red House Entertainment for the Paramount Center of the Arts during Monday’s Common Council meeting.

Melanie Rener, a spokeswoman for the Common Council, said the Common Council will vote on a resolution authoring city officials to move forward with negotiations during the meeting, which is expected to begin at 7:30 p.m. in city hall. City hall is located at 840 Main St. in Peekskill.

Red House Entertainment is one of three groups that submitted proposals to lease and manage the Paramount.  The Tarrytown Music Hall and the Paramount Phoenix Group are the other two groups.

The Paramount ceased operations in October after its former management board failed to reach fundraising goals.  

Red House Entertainment is made up Kurt Heitmann, Abigail Adams, Jonathan Close and Ray Wilson.
