Ossining's Fall Farmers Market

Here's what's new at the Ossining Farmers Market, amid the harvest festival season.

The Ossining Farmers Market is still going strong as we enter the fall. And with attendance up from last year, the crowds show no signs of thinning out.

The Ossining Farmers Market is run by Ossining-based located in downtown Ossining. They opened up the farmers market on May 26 and plan on running the outdoor market up until mid-December.

Community Markets Advertising and Marketing Director Frankie Rowland says this is a unique time because we are moving into harvest festival season.

"There will be pumpkins, there will be squash—a lot of the root vegetables. But then we still have our farmers growing in hoop houses and greenhouses, so they have greens available," said Rowland.

Another unique offering at the Ossining Farmers Market is the local, raw honey that's for sale. Vendors have Clove, Wildflower and Pumpkin Blossom honey this year.

Community Markets says that they are very pleased with the turnout at Ossining's farmers market this year.

"It's been a very good season. We've seen increased attendance. We've had increased representation from local businesses and non-profits through our community table program," said Rowland.

The Ossining Farmers Market goes on every Saturday through December 15th. The hours are from 8:30 a.m. until 1 p.m. It's located at the corner of Spring and Main Streets in downtown Ossining.
