Leatherman Dig Gets Golden Typo Award

Journal News pundit Phil Reisman has given the Ossining Historical Society one of his 2011 Golden Typo Awards.

Back in May, the Ossining Historical Society attempted to exhume the remains of the Leatherman, who was buried in Sparta Cemetery. The society wanted to see if there was anything left of the mysterious traveler who routinely walked through parts of Westchester and Fairfield counties back in the 1800s. Unfortunately for the historical society, when they dug up the grave, all they found was some coffin nails.

The unfortunate turn of events has led Reisman to give the Ossining Historical Society one of his 2011 Golden Typo Awards. The tongue in cheek award recognizes dubious achievements from the past year.
