Historical Society Names Its Leaders

OHMS has named the individuals who have been selected by the Board of Trustees to serve in various positions.

The following is a news release from OHSM:

The Ossining Historical Society Museum Inc. (OHSM) is pleased to announce that the following persons were unanimously selected by the Board of Trustees to serve in the positions indicated below. They are:

John C. Wunderlich, President. Mr. Wunderlich is a native of Ossining and a long-time member of the OHSM. His passions are local history and representational painting. His paintings are reminiscent of the 19th century Hudson River School. Time spent in the Adirondacks, the Hudson Valley and other scenic parts of the United States and Canada contributes to the inspired authenticity of the subjects he paints. Whether it is ice fishing in a blinding snowstorm or camping in a rough shack in the woods, he successfully transforms his experiences onto canvas and paper in watercolors and oil.

Norm MacDonald, Museum Curator. Mr. MacDonald is a retired law firm executive and is the OHSM’s immediate past president. In February of 2010, he took on the dual tasks of the presidency and the day-to-day administrative duties of the Society, keeping the organization on an even keel during a difficult time and thus assuring its continuity. Under his leadership, several grants were obtained for programs and the preservation of paintings and other artifacts. Also of note are his contributions to historical accuracy of certain segments of the popular Mad Men TV show and the search for the mortal remains of the Old Leatherman. These activities brought positive national and international attention to the OHSM.
