Croton Bridges is sending 15 students and three adults March 23 on a mission trip to Dominican Republic, living and working with families in a small village to help build a school.
The volunteers are working through Bridges to Community, a non-profit community development organization that takes groups around the world to help folks better their shelter, education, health care and nutrition.
The teens and their families and friends are holding a fundraiser at the Black Cow March 1 to help meet their goal of $36,000.
This is the first trip to the DR for Croton Bridges—they've built houses in Nicaragua.
Fran Gennarelli, one of the parents involved, said the kids are impressively dedicated.
"They do great work," he said.
Support their efforts by dropping by the Black Cow—the event starts at 7 p.m.—and by going to the Croton Bridges fundraising Webpage and clicking the big "Donate" button.
