Freeze Warning 3-9AM April 25 in Northern Westchester

If you've already got sensitive flowers or vegetables in the ground or in pots, take steps to cover them up overnight.

The National Weather Service has issued a Freeze Warning for 3-9 a.m. April 25.

The temperatures will range from 25-30 degrees.

"A Freeze Warning Means Below Freezing Temperatures Are Imminent Or Highly Likely. These Conditions Will Kill Crops And Other Sensitive Vegetation," the NWS said in its weather alert.

Good thing this was overdone. Peekskill made it down to 35...but you know, if we hadn't covered the geraniums it would have dropped below 32. :)

Yeah, ain't that always the way! It hit about 32 in our Croton ravine.

I checked surrounding areas first thing this a.m. expecting the worst -- there were a few 32s in Westchester, saw that in Croton, Bedford and Somers, but had to get up to Dutchess and Orange to find anything below 30. Just hope the freeze threat is truly over now. Want my flowers to enjoy themselves!
