United Way of Westchester and Putnam Tocqueville Society Holds Annual Recognition Dinner

Westchester County, N.Y. (July 3, 2013) - United Way of Westchester and Putnam Tocqueville Society recently held its annual celebration of donors at the Hudson National Golf Club in Croton-on-Hudson. The Tocqueville Society is made up of members of the community who annually give $10,000 or more to United Way and raises more than $1 million annually to benefit United Way. 

The event featured guest speaker and United Way of Westchester and Putnam board member Wendy Kaufman, the founder and president of Balancing Life’s Issues, Inc., a national training program brings work/life balance programming to corporations, not-for-profit organizations, employee assistance programs and educational institutions.

The Tocqueville Society supports the mission of United Way of Westchester and Putnam to advance the common good through education, income, and good health by recruiting people and organizations that bring the passion, expertise and resources needed to get things done. Key United Way of Westchester and Putnam program solutions include SmartStart (keeps at-risk children in kindergarten through 4th grade from giving up on school with out-of-school programs), Teach Me to Fish…Work Skills for Life (gives hard-to-place individuals training, opportunities and on-the-job follow-up to get back on the job track), Step Up 2 Health (works to reduce the obesity rates through: community gardens, education, exercise and nutrition programs), and United Way’s Hudson Valley Region 2-1-1 (answers calls and online inquiries ranging from tax, heating, and mortgage questions to childcare, basic needs, natural disaster and crisis calls).
