Leonardo “Lenny” Renna, 74, of Ossining, NY, passed away peacefully at Northern Westchester Hospital on July 1, 2014 after a sixteen-month long battle with cholangiocarcinoma. Lenny was born May 26, 1940 in Fontanarossa, Italy to Maria Gorizia and Angeloantonio Renna. As a young man, he left Italy to emigrate to Venezuela, where his father had settled. Over the next several years, Lenny built and owned a hotel, restaurant and butcher business.
He left Venezuela in his late twenties to be with his brothers, Michael and Fausto, and his sister, Teresa, in New York. Soon thereafter he met his wife, Elida, and over the subsequent decade they had three children, and settled in Ossining in Westchester County, New York.
Lenny was very proud of the fact that from humble beginnings he raised and provided well for his family. He was well loved by his many friends and colleagues at Citibank, where he worked for over 30 years, in addition to owning a successful exporting business. He enjoyed simple pleasures in life — making wine, working in his extensive garden and spending time with his family.

He was predeceased by his parents, Maria Gorizia and Angeloantonio, and his brother Michael. He is survived by his wife, Elida, his daughters, Renee and Danielle, son, Anthony, brother Fausto, and sister, Teresa.
Calling hours are Friday, July 4 from 2 to 4 PM and 6 to 8 PM at Waterbury & Kelly Funeral Home in Briarcliff Manor. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 AM Saturday, July 5 at St. Theresa’s Church, Briarcliff Manor. Interment will follow at the Gate of Heaven Cemetery in Hawthorne.
