Your presence is requested at the unveiling of the“Luiz Carlos da Costa Way”street sign as the Town of Ossining recognizes Mr. Da Costa’s contribution to our community and our world.
The unveiling ceremony will begin on Saturday May 12 at 10 am on the corners of Quail Hollow Rd and Pheasant Ridge Rd. There will be a short presentation of proclamations and a few words by local officials.
Luiz Carlos da Costa, a national of Brazil, was an Ossining resident killed in the 2010 earthquake in Haiti. He Served as the Deputy Special Representative for the UN Stabilization Mission in Haiti. The Town of Ossining has decided to honor his memory by dedicating his street (Quail Hollow Rd) to Luiz Carlos da Costa Way. The dedication ceremony will take place on Saturday, May 12, at 10 am at the corners of Pheasant Ridge Rd and Quail Hollow Rd inside the Country Meadows complex, where Mr. da Costa lived. Town of Ossining and other elected officials will unveil and dedicate the sign as well as present the family with Proclamations in Mr. da Costa’s honor.
