We are now in a countdown to the 2012 Elections. Here are some interesting numbers relevant to the upcoming election.

The 2012 Presidential election season obviously began a long time ago and promises to become more intense in the coming months.  Looking ahead, here are some numbers that are either interesting or important to know, in no particular order, regarding the upcoming federal elections on November 6, 2012. (all days are calculated from Dec. 20, 2011).

322         - days to November 2012 election

14           - days to first Presidential Caucus on Jan. 3 in Iowa

21           - days to first Presidential Primary on Jan. 10 in New Hampshire

88           - days to last Presidential Caucus on March 17 in Missouri

116         - days to New York State Presidential Primary on April 24

189         - days  to last Presidential  Primary in Utah on June 6

24           - total number of different primary dates in 2012

13           - debates held in 2001

9              - debates scheduled for 2012

33           - number of U. S. Senate seats up for election

435         - number of House of Representative seats up for election

29           - number of current Congressional seats in New York State

27           - number of 2012 Congressional seats in New York State (two less as a result of the 2010 Census)

251         - days to Republican Convention in Tampa, Florida, on Aug 27

258         - days to Democratic convention in Charlotte, North Carolina, on Sept. 3

538         - number of Electoral votes to be cast to determine the 2012 Presidential election result.
