Ossining Remembers James C. Brady

Lifelong Ossining resident James C. Brady, who was a member of the Ossining Fire Department, has passed away.

Friends and family are saying goodbye to lifelong Ossining resident James C. Brady. Brady was a 38-year member of the Ossining Fire Department. Back in 1986, he was the captain of Independent Hose Company #6. Brady was an auxiliary police officer here in Ossining and a member of the Knights of Columbus. During his career, James Brady was an MTA police officer and a fuel oil company dispatcher. 

Brady was born in 1955 to Francis and Ruth Harrington Brady. He was the last baby to be discharged from the old Ossining Hospital. In 1974, he graduated from Ossining High School and in 1976 he graduated from Westchester Community College.

James passed away suddenly on September 27. He is survived by his brother, Frank, who lives in California, his son, Sean, who lives and Ossining and two nephews.

A memorial service will be held at Ossining Funeral Home tomorrow from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. A funeral mass will be held at St. Augustine's Wednesday at 10 a.m. Burial will be at St. Augustine's Cemetery.
