New to Croton: Wake Robin Gift Shop

Wake Robin has relocated from Briarcliff with a tighter focus on affordable gifts and family-friendly interior design services.

The Wake Robin gift shop, formerly of Briarcliff, has moved to a 200-year-old house in Croton it shares with the Acker House Center for Integrative Health.

“I’m thrilled to relocate to Croton, which is where my life is centered,” said owner Megan David. “Being a part of Croton’s thriving business community, based in the heart of the village where my family lives and my kids go to school, is a dream come true.”

David, a former buyer for ABC Home in Manhattan, is a mother of three. Her shop is far from stuffy, rather full of personality and “silly things” for everyone under the sun. Objects of the moment: “Lots of Easter goodies, clown noses and the Moroccan poufs have arrived!” David writes on Facebook.

In Croton she is honing her focus on affordably priced gifts and “family-friendly” interior design services. The shop held its warmly received grand opening on Friday. So far so good, reports David. "So many people (new and old customers) came in and I think my changed focus to more accessibly-priced and such a broad range of merchandise, was the right move, because everyone felt comfortable buying something and I really think there is now enough variety to suit everyone's needs."

There will be an opening party, "a Spring Awakening Lawn Party" to be exact, to celebrate the new location towards the end of April. More info to come.

Wondering what the name's about? A wake robin, writes David, is:
